Gifts

A friend of mine gave me a little 'thank you' gift today - it certainly made going back to work today after holidays much nicer!. She knows me well, look what I got!

This is a fantastic book! It's full of great 60s fashion advertisements with fabulous images and great blurbs. Amazing retro charm!

And this lovely green button. The red/pink ones are for me to make a pair of earrings for her, the green one's for me. The buttons are amazing too - they're made from resin with nuts and sticks in them, then polished smooth. They were purchased on her recent trip to South Australia. I'm looking forward to wearing the green one as a brooch ... or maybe a pendant as it's really smooth and nice to touch.

How lucky you are! Very sweet gifts! I love those 'tashen icons' books, they're so much fun to look at (I'm often found sitting in the corner of Borders flicking through them ;) That's an adorable pink bikini in the top photo! Those buttons are gorgeous also! What a nice beginning to your working week :)

Hey Harriet - I thought that was me in the corner at borders with the 'icons' books?! We must've been sitting next to each other ;)

Oh, I see my youth flashing before my eyes - that could have been me in that book!! The buttons are just beautiful and I agree that the green one would make a fantastic pendant.

What a great friend you have!! Can't wait to see what you do with the buttons!!!
Oh, and thanks so much for dropping by and picking up your award! I meant to leave little comments on everyone's blog to let them know yesterday - but after posting it the day went manic and I didn't get to sit down at the computer all day (today is Kate's birthday so I was busy with the preparations yesterday!!!)
Cheers!
